Welcome to the special section dedicated to the Akropolis concerts and other Jean Michel Jarre appearances in the Greek media: a Jarreonline.net exclusive! A dream became reality for Andreas and every Greek Jarrefan with the concerts that Jean Michel Jarre gave at the Herod Atticus Theater in Athens, Greece on 19 and 20 June 2001. Jarre was invited by Marianna Vardinogianni, president of the Elpida foundation which takes care of children with cancer. All proceedings of the concerts were used for the benefit of Elpida.
The Akropolis ticket of Andreas 23 JANUARY 2006: JEAN MICHEL JARRE AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING-VIDEO MESSAGE IN ATHENS GALA Jean Michel Jarre was unable to come as expected to Athens on Monday 23 January as a Goodwill Unesco ambassador in order to participate in a meeting for the movement End Human Trafficking Now. Instead he sent a video message where he appeared in his Solidarnosk outfit and expressed his support for the movement. The only Greek TV channel that mentioned Jarre and showed a brief excerpt from his video message was MEGA TV. The meeting was organized in Zappeion at Athens by the International Movement of Women and its president Sousan Mubarak, with the presence of the wife of the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and the president of the Elpida Foundation Marianna Vardinogianni (a member of the movement council and responsible for the organization of the Akropolis concerts). The meeting was under the patronage of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
